This fucking show. The writing is so terrible. My friend loves it so much and I think I've seen the first few seasons like three times through now.

Did Stefan die? Because that would make me happy.

The writing is so terrible.

I would never claim TVD was a good show, but I feel like I've seen a lot of things lately that make TVD seem good by comparison (Shadowhunters, I'm looking at you).

That's true. To be fair they're not working with anything amazing as far as the source material goes for that one.

Never saw it but had a friend obsessed with it. So which brother did she get with? The older brother who my friend was constantly wanking over, or the younger brother?

Older brother. Though the MC was absent from the show for like the final 2 seasons I think? Her actress wanted to do other stuff so they put her in a magical coma and then she came back for the final 10 min of the show to do a bunch of flash forward scenes.

Nah, she wanted to not have to do romantic scenes (or probably really be around at all) with her ex that "I want to do other things" was just a smoke screen, and it wasn't even a very good one.

Also, she's a terrible actress and the show was much better without her.
