I agree with you. I still love the LOTR movies and tolerate the Hobbit ones. But they definitely didn't quite execute a lot of things, especially ideas they had about changes. There are parts of both trilogies that feel really rushed and parts of the Hobbit (and probably LOTR too) that are dragged out too long (particularly battles).
