there's nothing really stopping anyone from slashing any historical figure. But a popular movie, book or tv show certainly increases the chance. More people would be intrigued by the character and set out to research him and discover they essentially have permission from "canon" (aka real life) to go for it.

But I've only seen one fic ever on this topic. Even though this is a relatively tame request compared to, say, George Washington tentacle sex, which is a thing which someone wrote
