Is that from Reign of Fire? If a fantasy movie was "dark and gritty", then yeah, I could maybe see that. But I can't really see metal + Lord of the Rings, and even something dark like Pan's Labyrinth already had the perfect, eerie soundtrack.

I think it's a screenshot of Skyrim, but I could be wrong. Also, Tolkien's works lend themselves surprisingly well to heavy metal when done properly. Blind Guardian did a pretty decent job of it, at any rate.

Tolkien himself would loathe metal, but that doesn't change the fact that they cross over well!
