Language policing. Words for me but not for thee? Screw that noise. It's part of popular culture. Once slang gets out into the wild anyone can use it.

How do you feel about the n-word?

(Anonymous) 2017-06-27 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Which n-word? Grownups say what they are talking about.

Unless slaveowners were whipping black people and calling them 'bae' then no it doesn't have the same connotation as nigger.

I cannot even say how strongly I disagree with the concept Anon's pushing right now.

Words that were used as insults/to oppress? Sure, I follow the rule that says 'if you aren't that thing then you shouldn't say that thing.' Anything else? Fuck it, welcome to the English language.

Fuck it, welcome to the English language.

+1

Oh, please. Bae isn't used to hurt or diminish people.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-28 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Bae is used to make me cringe. So OK, ban it!

(Anonymous) 2017-06-28 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Let's ban cinnamon roll and smol achillean beans while we're at it. I don't know if it's racist but it sounds vaguely racist to me.
