Feeling triggered; need some help (Maybe TW???)

(Anonymous) 2017-06-28 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
I was doing well, but during my period I feeling constantly tired, triggered, and overwhelmed and weepy. I can't stop looking at sad shit on Tumblr either. Does this happen to anyone else when they're PMS-ing or on their period? What can I do to stop feeling like this?

Also, how can I learn to cope with repressed memories? What works for you guys?

Thank you.

Maybe try using the leechblock add-on to stop yourself from looking at sadshit online. Getting outside and walking and drinking water are my go tos.

Get off tumblr, turn off the sad music, hide your sad movies, and try to find something else to do. ime the best way to get past that sort of thing is to find ways to be productive. I always feel better if I manage to accomplish something, even if it's as simple as sweeping the floor or doing laundry. And of course the more I can do, the better I'll feel.

It depends on what kind of repressed memories you're meaning? For intrusive thought type memories, I just do my best to find something else to think of until it goes away. For things that you don't remember and then suddenly remember, or whatever, idk... I just... deal with it?

idk about you but when I recognize it as PMS, I immediately turn to endorphin-boosters: masturbating and chocolate. anything to force my brain chemicals out of the feedback loop. in fact, I think I need to do this tonight after a day of crying on the floor.

The tiredness might be due to low iron. Try taking a women's multivitamin or eating some iron-rich food (as part of a proper meal).

As someone whose anemia has returned (my iron levels are low again) I can vouch for the lethargic feelings.
