It would also have been a shitty script in 2006.

I mean, nothing takes away from Buffy, but the script does have massive flaws that speak to consistent issues w Joss' writing. We don't need to make a federal case out of it but it does suck.

Yup, it sucked and it didn't get made. I wish that could've happened to more of the sucky shit that DOES get made. XD

I've always considered him... not malicious, but lazy. An extremely lazy, overly indulgent writer. I enjoyed Buffy too, back in the day, and I've enjoyed some of the other stuff he's done? He's had his moments. But it's always the same stuff every time. The man's become incapable of writing anything but bickering teenagers and comic tropes. Avengers was a decent fanwork, it hit all the core parts of the mythos, but AoU is a much more recent case study of what Joss's bad writing looks like after a few hundred million dollars gets thrown at it.

But yeah, not even worth being a federal case, agreed.
