Re: Favorite Villains

If you could consider him a villain, for a while at least, my favorite villain was Lord Henry from Dorian Grey. I thought he was great because of his power to influence. He never did anything himself, he only espoused opinions, and corrupted people with ideas. If you think about it, how insidious is that? To merely ruin lives with just a few words, ideas, and to wield such influence while barely doing anything yourself?

This is a more nuanced appreciation for him as a villain that has developed over time. Ten years ago I just thought he was witty and how powerful/wicked he must be to just casually make suggestions, letting the chips fall where they may? Now I can see beyond that.
