What are you working on right now?

I'm working on the darkest thing I've ever written. Sauron in Numenor, just pure twisted stuff. And also my first song fic if it works, because I had the idea of adding metal lyric quotes into the fic.

Working on some cool VN and animatic ideas when I can get around to them. I'm loving VNs so much right now.

I've got two projects right now.

1. A surreal story where the main character has to go rescue a friend from a place where magic has run wild and eventually changes everything that enters.

2. A thriller type thing maybe? The main character works in propaganda for a dictator and is pulled into a rebellion when her work is sabotaged.

Several Star Wars AUs featuring Obi-wan. And a sequel to my longest Silmarillion fic.

A Tumblr post about how Pillars of Eternity expresses a existentialist nihilist philosophy.

I'm writing a bunch of short fics to get a fill in Hurt/Comfort Bingo. So far I've done five in five different fandoms. The one I posted last night was for the TV version of The Handmaid's Tale.

Well. I was going to work on a short story this week (I've had several recent sales put a dent in my backlist, and so I feel like I should bang out a couple more besides the ridiculous thing I did a couple of weeks ago). But the novelthing is shaking its finger at me and saying "You know you want to finish those edits. Right? Right???"

The idea of this short story (which is kind of a fantasy-novelist version of "Castle" only his novel opens a rift between dimensions) amuses me greatly, and I really want to write it. But then I open the doc and sit there staring at it, fingers idle on the keyboard. There may be drool.

I also have another Thing I should be expanding into a novel. But every time I look at it I break out in hives. Novels intimidate the hell out of me.

So here I sit. Paralyzed. Stupid brain.

Sorry. I'm in the same boat. I had this fic idea while I was driving to Houston. I had the whole thing planned out. But so far I've written exactly two paragraphs and now I don't know what to write next. The blank white pages are taunting me.

I'm 400 words into the thing and know exactly what happens next. It's maddening. And I know I just need to make my fingers type the words, but there's some kind of block there.

I have a write-in tonight at my local coffee shop. Maybe I can break it loose there.

I'm the other way around. I have problems with short fiction. Trying to fit a satisfying story into a small space is what's intimidating to me.

Apparently I naturally think small. I wrote my first completed novel wholly by accident--as in, I didn't start out to write a novel, it just sort of... grew. I'm still not entirely sure exactly how I wrote the second one, even though I outlined it as a novel and everything.

If this short morphs into a novel, I am going to be very put out. I already have four novels on my plate and do not need another one. Like, for serious, I do not.

Lots of starter projects that are hitting a brick wall because I've let a year go by without a serious writing project, and without a fandom hook there's really no place to share them.

Finishing up my WIP sickfic and my pairing fic for one fandom.

Also someone I know was complaining about a lack of new FrostIron fics so I've been brainstorming ideas for that. Might put on Avengers Assemble for a rewatch because I like that 'verse.

Original steampunk-ish story set during the Italian Wars about a merchant-by-day nigromancer-by-night following the directions of a rogue goddess. I know I have mentioned it here at least once. Ever since, the villain protagonist is essentially in a bunch of political trouble after his arranged marriage to a Catholic noblewoman and his main henchman has been assassinated and reluctantly resurrected. Having a ton of fun writing this, haha

Just. So much FFXV fic. Oh god. I've written more for this fandom than I've written for anything in years.

Now, of course, ask me if I've posted any of it...

Original story-wise, I'm still taking a break from my alien bees short story, partially because I'm having trouble deciding where to go with it and partially 'cause my keyboard's "Z" key stopped working entirely and it's kind of a hassle to C&P it every time I need to use it. Which, in a story about bees, is a lot. Anyone know how to fix the problem of a key not working anymore?

Fanfic-wise, I'm about to start actually writing chapter five of my Voyager/Pokemon crossover. Seven's about to be completely unimpressed by Falkner.

Recently returned to working on a series I stopped writing about ten years ago...and glad that you can link fics via series on AO3...didn't have that on FFnet. Each story was complete, but some reviewers had asked for more, especially to see two characters hook up and the muse and put me back into that direction so I'm writing for it again.

A self-indulgent fic where it's a/b/o-verse and all the characters are competitive overwatch players.

I've just submitted my thing for Supernatural SummerGen, my project for WIP Big Bang is off at the beta reader's, and for Camp NaNoWriMo's July my goal for the month is to do 50 hours of revisions of a fantasy novel I wrote a while back.
