I hope we've all learned that some people complaining vociferously on tumblr does not necessarily constitute the majority opinion and will not have a serious impact at the box office. If the box office goes the way those people said it would/should, it's merely coincidental and not proof of any influence.

This isn't a judgement on what those complains were about, but rather an observation that people tend to act like what they've read a few times on tumblr constitutes what "everyone" is saying, when in fact the majority of the worldwide movie going public either is unaware or doesn't care. Tumblr can get in right in the sense of reflecting wider attitudes about things like whether a movie is any good, but has little influence in the other direction.
