It just didn't strike me as 'preachy', like OP said.

He doesn't seem religious to me *at all* - I'd peg him for an atheist, frankly, or at least agnostic.

How is that not religious? Or preachy? How does he know how God dresses?

Anyway, sorry. I'll let it go. I just, I love Steve so much but that irked me. His religion isn't mine, you see.

It was a throw-away line that Whedon thought would be funny. It was a 'trailer' line. He never spoke about religion again, even confronted by Thor, Loki, and the knowledge of Asgard. So i didn't take it seriously.

I'm an atheist. I *detest* religion in my media. And it...just didn't bother me.

So, you know, to each their own. Sorry it bothered you so much.
