I hear you, OP. Unfortunately the Jurassic Park/World franchise kind of hogs all the market share when it comes to dinosaur movies. It's a bit disappointing for me, because I thought Jurassic World was kind of meh, even for a popcorn flick.

More dinosaur flicks would be great. Quick! To the writer's room!

It would be interesting to have a movie that portrays them with feathers for once, especially if they managed to still make them scary.

I also want more dragons! There are so many things to do with them, but the examples in films are mostly a bit clichéd.

Didn't one of the Jurassic Park movies have velociraptors with feathers? Not a lot but I do remember them.

The most non-traditional dragon I have seen lately was from the new Pete's Dragon. Not even sure if that counts as a dragon.

JP3 had raptors with spines. It was a weak concession to the whole feather thing. *shrug*

JP4 also had a nod to the fact that JP dinosaurs aren't accurate with the, "If we had stayed true to nature our dinosaurs would look a lot different, but you didn't want real, you wanted more teeth" line.

That's one of the reasons I like JW. It aknowledged that and yet they wanna keep their non-accurate dinos. Which works, imo.

Ah, that must be what I was thinking of.

Not that I remember, but the first one is the only one I've watched lately.

I liked Pete's Dragon! Cutest dragon since Falkor.

Yeah, I like dinosaurs, but if I had to pick, I'd rather have more dragon movies/tv shows.

I would LOVE to see some well-done dinos with feathers in action!

I wish we'd get a DECENT adaptation of Dinotopia.

I'd love an adaptation of Dinotopia Lost

(Anonymous) 2017-06-30 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
How about King Kong (2005)?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-01 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I agree, OP. We need more good dragon/dinosaur movies in general!!!

So long as the makers do their best to be as accurate as possible, I'm always down for more dinosaur media!
