If the guac is made of mostly fresh avocado, then yes.

As opposed to what? Guacamole is avocado, lime or lemon juice, and salt, with maybe a little bit of onion, tomato, hot pepper, and/or cilantro.

As opposed to crappy fake guac, like the stuff from the dip section of the supermarket. Good guac is worth having to peel and mash avos.

...I only sort of knew that was a thing. I live in California.mmI read somewhere (Omnivore's Dilemma, maybe?) about someone buying prepackaged guacamole that lasted months in their refrigerator, and had some weird ingredient in it that turned out to be an avocado-derived skin cream component never intended for human consumption, so I should have guessed. Yuck.

I don't know about something that weird, but the dips I see are probably something like 5% avocado with the rest mostly something like sour cream, cream cheese or mayonnaise with flavourings that taste nothing like actual avocado.
