Re: Should I watch this? (YURI ON ICE)

1. they're a couple but there it's less...explicit than what you might be used to unless you watch a lot of Asian media. I don't mean sexually explicit (although that too) but there is less PDA/kissing...I think it's more internal? But it's also clearly a romance, I think anyone who says otherwise is reaching.

2. I don't remember any fat shaming, I think in the beginning some of Yuri's family members made some comments about him being chubby and I think he gets called "piglet" (http://ajwolf84.tumblr.com/post/151741239832/something-i-actually-kinda-love-in-yuri-on-ice-is this might have spoilers but has a good analysis - it points out that piglet suits Yuri's personality and another character gets called "kitten"). Honestly I think the people saying that don't...understand plot progression. In the beginning, Yuri is out of practice and has put on a little bit of weight. Then he meets Victor. The relationship progresses as Yuri gets back into skating. It's likely that seeing Yuri put effort into skating is part of why he falls in love but it wasn't specifically because he lost weight. Victor is also his coach so him trying to push Yuri into getting into shape is...part of what a coach does.If it helps, I'm fat and I didn't have any problems with it.
