Re: Friendship deal breakers?

The reason I like this answer so much is because I think it's exactly the kind of thing that really does cause or heavily contribute to the end of so many adult friendships. Like, yes, having a friend who steals from you or stabs you in the back every time you turn away are legit deal-breakers. But personally, as an adult, if I have a friendship that breaks off or peters out, it's pretty much always because of something like this - the termites-in-the-wood type problems that can be hard to notice for quite a while. I know how to spot a jerk and I know better than to befriend jerks, but I'm not sure you can ever really learn to identify the seemingly innocuous things that, on a long enough time frame, are going to rankle eventually.
