(Anonymous) 2017-07-02 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)I mean... our whole political, social, economic, and intellectual context is two or three radical changes removed from theirs. They would be outraged at Trump, but they would also be outraged at the United Nations, the New Deal, and the existence of a standing professional army. I'm just not sure how useful an angle it is to ask what they would think. I think it makes more sense to try to understand their context and the actual principles they believed in.
And for fun, who is your favorite Founding Father?
