Wanted to add too, like any hobby it can get out of hand. I understand being mad at people who complain about not being able to afford things but have tons of blu rays, or video games, or smoke every day, or go out drinking, or whatever.

But for me when I collected Monster High dolls, $20 a month for one new doll wasn't that bad and I was perfectly happy to have that be my 'fun' budget instead of going to the movies, or going out to eat. I got more lasting enjoyment out of getting a new doll and just cooking for myself than I would from a trip to Applebees.
