106. I've considered doing this before, but I think I'd be too obvious. XD;;

108. He GOT the happy ending!! He's with his brother! XD;; I don't get why people say the ending's sad!

111. If the translation's good, then the canon should stay the same. I'm pretty sure they did a fine job with the translation--it's such a popular book, they would've gotten a lot of flak if they screwed up.

112. I'm like that, sort of, but I'm active in fandom. As long as you can express yourself well, you can enjoy fandom. (Or even if you can't, considering there's some kids who type liek dis and enjoy fandom just fine.)

114. I loved that movie! I watched it all the time!

119. I think you can enjoy cute shows like those and still be a fan of "good" anime! I like to think that I like "good" anime, too--some of my favorites are really artsy stuff like Paranoia Agent. But I also enjoy shounen like Fullmetal Alchemist and just shows like Azumanga Daioh. There's nothing wrong with having different tastes...in fact, I think the best type of anime fan is someone who can enjoy a little of everything. (WAY better than the kids who only watch super-popular shounen shows like Naruto and Bleach and NOTHING else.)

122. ...Personally I think fans that think they could "do better" at dubbing than professionally trained actors are a little arrogant. I'm sure there's SOME that could do well, but it's not something "anyone" could do...

146. I get ticked off depending on how they do it. Intelligent points about why they don't like the dub? Fine. Admitting it's just an opinion? Fine.
"OMG ALL ENGLISH ACTORS SUCK JAPANESE ACTORS ARE ALL BRILLIANT AND PERFECT!!!11two"? I HATE those. XD;

I think it's sad because I wanted a different ending. I really hated the movie and the resolution it gave to the series, it deserved a lot better. :/ Ed and Al walking (...damn, I almost wrote 'wanking') off into the sunset together while leaving everything and everyone behind is definitely not a happy end for me. (Poor Winry. :/)

But they're alive, Al's body is restored...It would be nicer if they could see everyone again, but that's still not an unhappy ending to me.

I mean, the ending to my favorite manga killed off half the characters, made another one crazy, and had the villain survive well long after the main cast had all died. That's a downer ending.

I loved the ending too. :') It was bittersweet, hard, and in that, perfect to me. &hearts ~~and omg I love the brothers way too much and they are way too cute~~

Yeah, I mean...I like the manga, too, and if it had a more traditional happy ending I'd be really happy with that, too. But I don't think an ending where they move on is a bad ending...

I think it sucked because, for one, the movie was ridiculous, and difficult to connect to the context of the series. The anime itself ended badly; the movie was tacked on and, while rather mucking up a whole lot of the stuff that made FMA awesome in the first place, managed to make Ed's life a whole lot shittier, and then salvage something from the ruins.
Honestly, as a character, Ed was so emotionally battered by the end of the movie that I find it almost impossible to regard that ending as happy. The movie did nothing to address the major conflicts and difficulties within his character, much less resolve any of his obssessive, self-destructive tendencies. It was an ending, but it wasn't a solution, and I believe that even the art style can give a hint that things aren't well with him; for goodness' sake, he didn't smile properly the whole movie =/ yeah, that's a real happy person.
