That's a good point. But I think the Tolkien fandom makes it pretty easy to avoid the stuff you don't like? I mostly avoid Hobbit movie stuff, and I don't find it particularly difficult.

The point isn't avoiding what I don't like. It's a shift in the culture. The modern AUs and utter lack of characterization were way less prevalent, and it's bleeding into Silm and LOTR fandoms. Galadriel is definitely taking a hit.
