Re: What's your favorite classic horror monster and why?

It depends a bit on how serious you are about the "movie monster" aspect. Cause if we're talking specifically about monsters as portrayed in monster movies, I find a lot of monsters less interesting in film. Probably the ones I like the most is mummies - there's something really powerful and evocative about the idea of something rising out of the past and it comes across really well visually.

If we're talking about monsters more generally, my all time favorite is ghosts because theyre the coolest. All incorporeal and spooky and atmospheric and redolent of death and the past. They're so good. I also like werewolves and vampires a lot cuz they're interesting as characters - their monstrosity takes them in interesting directions.
