Same here, while I'm not much in furry fandom any more (nowadays I'm just in it for the costume-making tips, man it's been amazing to watch costume makers over the years), I did enjoy my time hanging around. I always found it rather easy to avoid the sexual side of the fandom, even as a young internet user. By and large people are good about labeling NSFW stuff as such. Just like with any fandom, your experience is what you make it.
And I'd have to say at least half of the 'furries' I interacted with didn't even have a 'fursona'. So don't sweat it if you can't think of anything.
