I think what happened is after Sixth Sense people started to expect "OMG TWISTS" from his work, and when the twists weren't enough for them or weren't satisfying to people they started saying "All he does is lame twists which you can see coming from a mile away!" Which is...really sort of stupid, since that's not ALL he does in his films. Personally I enjoy more how he plays around with tropes and how visual his works are, but y'know...

tl;dr: Everyone expects his stuff to be just like Sixth Sense.

I wanted to go on the good ship Ferkel so, so bad. We'd have adventures and fart jokes! And, yeah, while I mostly appreciate the slash for Coville being ballsy enough to put it in there before (and it was way more obvious than) Dumbledore, I think if I started to write fic I'd concentrate more on the gen aspects in the series.

Like Rob having adventures. And Elspeth being annoying. And snark for everyone!

YES! imho Unbreakable was a perfect superhero movie. I just recently found out that he'd planned two more movies after that, but that it fell to the wayside because it wasn't received well enough. The structure of that movie is simply amazing, and it's a pity people dismissed it just because Willis didn't don the spandex and blow shit up.

Shyamalan is an original. Too bad those aren't received very well by most.

ADKFJKDLSJF I KNOW. I need to go find those books now, a burning need. I used to LOVE Coville's stuff.

Knowing about wicked awesome, obscure children's sci-fi + Ty Lee icon = major win.
