Ah yes, I cannot claim to nine years, for me it was less than 1 [I was only 11 or 12 when the films came out and I only HEARD the films were coming out in the middle of my first read of The Two Towers] but man, the film fandom was so cracked out, it was hilarious. But I didn't make any permanant friends from it - although it did cement one already existing friendship :)

Ah, the Two Towers was the first book I cried to. When Sam thinks Frodo is dead :( Sam is such an amazing friend and and and really the hero, yes. I honestly think if there were more people like Sam, the world would be a better place :
