Nothing is creepier than walking by a classroom full of kids while they're reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. That's some god-tier level indoctrination.

I'll forever be grateful that I went to a super liberal school. We learned the pledge, but we never actually had to say it. Our school day started with school, not blind patriotism.

DA - I am glad I was a salty kid who stubbornly refused to believe there could be "freedom and justice for all" if I was stuck in boring school being forced to stand up and chant things, and hated that pledge.

The Star-Spangled Banner's pretty fucking stupid, too. All of our patriotic music is garbage. :/
