I have a leaning towards father/daughter relatioships in media too; but then any relationship I had with my mother pretty much imploded when I was 15, and now close mother/daughter relationships in media usually just make me super angry and bitter, lol. Especially ones that try to peddle the whole "a mother has an unbreakable bond to her children" thing. No, sadly, they don't always.
