Fuck yeah. The way Damar went from background henchman to a compelling hero was one of my favourite things about the later episodes of DS9.

I'm glad they had the balls to kill him, and without some heroic speech or anything like that, too. It wouldn't have been right for him to be the leader of the New Cardassia, politically I mean. Even if he got a personal redemption it would still be a spit in the eye to all the Bajorans he had killed in his career for him to be so. It is like the Luke-Vader redemmption thing in Star Wars, Vader got a personal redemption to Luke, but it still meant squat to the Alderaanians around (or all those Bothans who died going for coffee). Garak going onto be the New Cardassian Leader made more sense, if only because most of his more egregious war crimes were conducted under a true veil of silence.

DS9 had some amazing character arcs among the secondary and tertiary characters. It's mind-boggling when you think about it.

Considering Dukat went fucking batshit and at best can be said to have obtained Winn's sexual consent under false pretenses, then went on to try and call forth dangerous energy beings, I'd say trying to do the crime Olympics with the two of them is not gonna be fruitful.

Well you could make a case that Dukat went fucking batshit because Dumar killed his daughter. If she didn't die by Dumar's hand, then Dukat likely doesn't go crazy.
