It's true, you don't have to respond to any lame jabs, even if the target is obvious. But tbh, when people make subtle digs or "throw shade" at others in the hopes that they'll get a response like the one you described, that says a lot more about them than it does the ones they're hoping to upset.

And "band-aids don't fix bullet holes" is cute, but not original.

Yeah, I have to say I don't have much respect for artists who take potshots at each other through their music. It's just pointless and crass. I listen to music for themes that are more moving and generalized than pissy arguments.
