KH triggers my love for stuff that places a great deal of importance on friendship.

Ah, yeah! I love KH, I think it's really adorable and I like how it portrays friendships.
Even now, hearing those songs for both games make me sniffle.

I can see his/her point though. The second game shot off in really odd and convoluted directions (even odd and convoluted for a Square-Enix game) which only made sense if you a) played the Gameboy game that same between the two main games b) collected all of the Ansem reports and/or c) poked around online and read the theories.

I couldn't beat Ansem the first time at Hollow Bastion and just moved onto the second game, so I assumed all the horrible confusion I was feeling would have been explained if I completed the first game...
