They're still going to vote on the repeal bill. I'm afraid it's going to pass somehow. Someone will cave.

Which would kick it down the road 2 years, which is interesting and interestingly cynical. It allows you (as the Republicans) to campaign on it in 2018, and if you win you won, and if you lose it's the Democrats' problem to fix. Of course, it's hard to believe they'd have any success campaigning on that - it kind of seems like a line that doesn't appeal to anyone. If you're a hardcore conservative, why should I trust you to take everyone else's healthcare away when you wouldn't do it even with control of both houses? If you're a moderate independent, why should I trust you to fix healthcare when you couldn't do it even with control of both houses?

Of course, it still remains to be seen whether the Democrats are going to campaign on any actual substantive positive program, or if they're just going to yell the word Russia very loudly and repeatedly. I *think* they're going to figure it out - the people in charge like Perez have to know you can't win an election just by saying the word 'fuck' - and it's just an online thing to talk about how advocating social programs is actually bad for some mind-bending reason.

We'll see, I guess.

One risk on this is that Republicans will successfully pass the buck to Obama for Trump's malpractice in destroying the executive.

It's possible. I think that's going to be really hard to convince people of, especially given how unpopular that bastard is. His favorables are sub-40 at this point.
