There were 10 people in my training group, all non-Japanese. We're basically scattered all over the country now, but we have a Line chat that, for now, is still going strong. My supervisor is really helpful, and I've hung out with one of the other native teachers in my area, who's pretty chill. Otherwise, I don't really know anyone around here.

My Japanese is pretty rusty, but I can carry on a decent conversation with enough "uhhh"s and consultations of my dictionary app. o/

I've bought 23 doujinshis of Iyami from Osomatsu-san, does that count as cool? (it probably doesn't) No real culture shocks so far, although I've been here before so that probably gave me a chance to get used to most of the weird stuff. I will say that the best thing about teaching Japanese kids is that they've never experienced "down low, too slow". Gets a laugh every time. C:
