I actually see the "romanji" reaaaaaaaally often and it annoys me every time.

Wikipedia (which is, of course, such a GREAT source of information :P) tells us "The word "rōmaji" is sometimes incorrectly transliterated as romanji or rōmanji." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romaji) :D

Last semester, I had a poetry class that I hated, so I decided all my poems would be full of Japanese crap.

Every time I handed in works, I had to explain to the teacher that "No, this is not a mistake, it's not supposed to have an 's'. EVER."

He made us write haiku and took of points for me not using 's' on 'haiku'. And never gave them back. Is 'haiku' a occidental word now?

I think we're just too stuck up.

I'm actually French and we have about 1000000 weird rules that don't really exist in English, and even less in Japanese (though I think Japanese counters are still a killer) so if I had decided to kill every rules that didn't apply in Japanese, I would have failed every exam/homework in my semester. Not wise :P

The word I despise the most in English is 'yaoi'. It has three syllables. THREE. 3. It's not 'yoy'. -_- *despair* [Yes, I'm a fangirl. I know it can be bad, but it's great most of the time :D]
