You calling her a skank, makes you more sexist than her dressing like one. Women should be allowed to dress however the hell they want, without the fear of other women's disapproval.

But they only dance and dress like that because it makes them feel sexy! They've always been like that even before they started singing and became famous.

Yeah, but... I think from a feminist standpoint, the fact that a woman needs to show off that much of her body in order to feel "sexy" is kind of troublesome, you know? There's nothing inherently BAD about showing your body, but women showing off their bodies especially to please men is just as sexist as them being told they have to cover up entirely. It's great that she's confident in her body and she may be a lovely person, and I agree with you that calling her (or anyone else) a "skank" because of how they dress is ridiculous and sexist.

But I also think that the Pussycat Dolls and similar bands/shows both come from and contribute to a really oversexualized idea of women in our culture and the idea that a woman needs to be sexy in order to have "worth". I mean, "Don't Cha Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me?" isn't really feminist material. That doesn't mean they're bad people, but it does mean that the presentation is problematic.

...Does that make any sense?

Yes that makes sense, they have always been the type to wear stuff like linjerie at their performances so it was always more of 'there thing' than it was 'trying to be sexy to get attention'.

I appreciate how you pointed out that it doesn't mean they're bad people, because that was kind of you. I do think it's more of a parent's or a woman's own responsiblity to recognize their own worth and that some band of performers has a different idea of sexy.
