Maybe OP is scared of the fandom in boards outside lj? Which is pretty crazy with the Rue and Mytho bashing.

Oh man, that's possible. I've seen some of that. >_< Even on YT when they had the subs uploaded, on the comments for the last episode there was just a FLOOD of people hating on Rue, especially. So much crap about how she didn't deserve Mytho and she was a terrible character and nothing but a bitch. I don't get all the hate. Fakir and Rue were probably the most fleshed-out and complex characters in the series. Fakir practically gets worshiped and Rue gets all the hate. Whut?

Oh yeah, she'd be hot as a guy. I mean...Rue kinda IS Fakir in female form, almost.

...But that doesn't explain Mytho bashing.

Fakir is a hot bishounen, who...doesn't get in the way of any ships except for maybe Mytho/Ahiru.

Rue is a female getting in the way of a popular OTP.

It's Die For Our Ship (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DieForOurShip) basically. As sad as it really is. (There's even an example on the page referring to Rue.)

It could be that Fakir gets development as early as episode 10 that makes him sympathetic, whereas Rue...we...don't really "get" her until close to the series end.

And Fakir never poisons a character and turns them evil.

But that doesn't explain why raven!Fakir is popular. That'd probably just be the hotness factor again.

I guess it goes with what Lore said above. Even though technically both Fakir and Rue get in the way of Mytho/Ahiru shippers, the hate is all directed to Rue.

And while Fakir doesn't poison or turn anyone evil, he's a definitely jerkass in his own right. I didn't even like him at all, at first. But by the end of the series, I was big fans of both Fakir and Rue. (And I could argue that Rue is somewhat sympathetic early on, as well. She definitely had that 'lonely' vibe to her and they made her struggle with Kraehe visible. It just doesn't all make complete sense until the real truth of it all comes out in the end. But by the second season, definitely, you can see her questioning her actions and being a hell of a lot less sure of herself.)

Lol Probably. "Hotness" doesn't even really factor in, for me. I'll joke about it, but I wouldn't like a character just for being a good-looking fictional character. But besides that, in Raven!Fakir's case, a lot of people also go for the evil-ness. I mean, hell, I liked Evil!Mytho more than I liked normal!Mytho.

But Mytho/Rue is the most unquestionably canon ship in the entire show. Fakir/Mytho....well, it's debatable.

Oh yeah, he's a jerkass, I agree. But I mean...he hits Mytho and tells him he "hates his emotions", but Rue just does...so much more for so much longer. I'm not saying I don't like her--she was my favorite until Fakir became a writer, and I found her more sympathetic than Fakir in the first season. I'm just trying to figure out the thought process Rue-haters go through.

I like a character if they're good looking...and have an interesting personality to match.
