This is not what I wished for!

Have you ever wanted a sequel for something and then were utterly disappointed with the end result?

I'll start: Legal Drug.

The Dead Like Me movie, I always wanted more of the show but the movie did not work at all. They never should have recasted Daisy and I missed Rube.

I heard so many bad things about the movie, so I never bothered to watch it. Probably for the best.

I don't think it would be *that* bad but the biggest problem for me was recasting Daisy, recasts always bother me and the new actress didn't feel like Daisy at all. They dealt with not having Rube so they should have figured out a way to write out Daisy as well.

But yeah if you loved the show you might as well not watch the movie because it doesn't add anything of value.

I didn't think it was as bad as people said. I didn't like the new Daisy but then I didn't much like the old Daisy so it wasn't a huge issue. The plot was fine and it was great seeing George, Roxy, Mason, and especially Delores again. I loved the ending and thought it was the perfect place to leave things forever or to bring it back as a series.

Tsubasa kinda? It's not a direct sequel (I think), but I like to think it counts. I liked it initially, but it got really weird and confusing after Acid Tokyo.

Also, many Disney movies: all the Lilo and Stitch ones, Kronk's New Groove, the Cinderella ones (though I liked the one with the stepsister and the baker), The Little Mermaid II, Pocahontas II, and all the Beauty and the Beast ones.

I gave up on Tsubasa. I started it because I would have been into an alternative universe story of Sakura and Syaoran being cute but that's not what it was.

Pretty much every Disney sequel. They're mostly terrible and don't actually add anything to the story.

The only exceptions for me would be: The Lion King 2, and the Aladdin sequels.

+ the time-travel Cinderella one.

I've not seen that one, but I think it came out after I got annoyed with them.

You should give it a try. Cinderella gets to be an action lady, The Nice Stepsister gets to be one of the most interesting female characters I've seen in the classic Disney films, and THIS HAPPENS:

Okay, that's won me over to give it a try.

Oh god his expressions before he jumps!

It was already on my to-watch list but this knocked it up a few notches.

The Da Vinci Code wasn't the greatest book but it was a fun mystery. The sequels never lived up to the first one.

I love Taken and would have loved to see Liam Neeson be bad ass again. Unfortunately, the sequels are awful.

After the LOTR trilogy came out, I was hoping there'd be a movie (or movies) based on The Hobbit. Well...

Thinking about it: Reading LotR after The Hobbit at twelve or thirteen. I've since learned to appreciate it for what it is, but when I wanted goofy dwarves and hobbits having safely Disney-esque adventures? Yeah, not so much.

Have you seen the Rankin-Bass animated Hobbit movie from the 70s? It is the best.

I saw the FotR one last summer, but I didn't know they'd done The Hobbit, too. Funny thing is, that film might've had an influence on how I read The Hobbit in the first place: The first edition I read had a cover illustration that was either taken from the animated films, or heavily based on them.

I haven't seen it in many years but I loved it. Of course I was around ten, so my taste was suspect, but still.

The Silent Hill movie. I'm not saying the first one was a really great movie, but I enjoyed it. After all I heard about it I couldn't even bring myself to go see the second one.

The Flambards series by KM Peyton. I read them and watched the TV series when I was little, and I kinda sorta had a thing for the main character Christina hooking up in some way with her assholish brother-in-law Mark after her husband died. It never happened in canon (at the time) but they had some sparks together,

Fast forward to my adulthood, and I discovered Peyton had written a fourth book as a sequel to the earlier ones, and Christina and Mark did hook up in it. OMG. I put a rush request in to Interlibrary Loan, I was so desperate to read this!!

And boy, was it shit. 13-year-olds wrote better fan fiction than this garbage. Maybe it was ghostwritten, idk, but none of the characters behaved like themselves, and the storyline and prose were just terrible. Such a disappointment.
