I'm home alone and scared out of my mind
(Anonymous) 2017-07-23 05:31 am (UTC)(link)What do I do? I don't have pets and it's a large house.

(Anonymous) 2017-07-23 05:46 am (UTC)(link)If there's a friend you can call or talk to online I would do that just to help calm your anxiety.
I wish I had more advice and I'm sure it'll probably be scary for the time being, forgetting to lock the door happens to the best of us so just do what you need to do to keep yourself calm but also stay safe!
Re: I'm home alone and scared out of my mind
(Anonymous) 2017-07-23 05:50 am (UTC)(link)Can you call someone? By which I mean, call a friend or family member. Tell them what's going on. Then, if you think you're up to it, keep them on the line and keep talking, loudly, while you go check your house. Maybe having another voice on the line who you know can immediately get help will help make things feel less dangerous.
Or maybe (if it's not too late at night and the person you call lives in your area) you could ask them to come over and help you check the house. Safety in numbers. Yeah, it's probably for nothing, but if you're close with the person you call, they'll most likely understand.
And if neither of those is an option, maybe just talking to someone will make you feel better and help reassure you that the house is safe.
I hope you can relax soon.
