117. If he treated you like that then he only looked like Lindsay, he sure as hell didn't act like him. I'm fairly certain he wasn't a monster or even a dick back in S2, but later, really not the case. Still glad you got some goodness out of Epiphany.

He was a member of W&H. They do a thousand little evil things a day, and he was OK with it. If he was a good person, he wouldn't even be working for them, or maybe when they started summoning You Know Who in an attempt to ruin one man's unlife utterly through emotional torture, he would have resigned. Lindsey isn't a good man; he's not as evil as some people, especially in the series, sure, but that's not a great benchmark. Certainly Angel has the capacity for great evil, too, but they're meant to be foils of one another.

Either way, early on, I felt Lindsey was at least not a very good man, either. Perhaps she meant his personality? Ruthless, self-serving, victim complex about his past, dominant, and controlling in love?

I really shouldn't reply because I know the morality of Lindsay is one of those Whedonverse arguments that just goes on and on for ages and no-one ever changes their minds.
But since you actually put some thought in your reply I feel I owe it to you.

I think that Lindsay wasn't that bad a man. Sure he worked for Wolfram and Hart, So did most of the main cast, who aside from that all had one point or another where they went 'evil' (well I guess except Fred and Lorne) To be honest by Not Fade Away I was furious about what happened because by that point I didn't see him as any more morally evil than an of AI.
And as for the earlier seasons I felt that Lindsay did have his ethical lines, he was willing to fuck with history's biggest serial killer, but he wouldn't let children die, you know?

I guess I mostly just Knee-Jerked at Lindsay as an abusive partner as I found him and Eve very endearing (well as far as 'evil' couples go, I felt they were miles ahead of Spike and Darla.

Either way, I guess this is far less important than the fact that seeing my gorgeous tiny texan being beaten down made someone feel better about a terrible part of their life :)
