Oh, the irony, it burns us, precious. The IRONY of someone claiming to be representing/defending FW asking to be let off the hook from "abuse" because they're in a bad state of mind. Especially when such "abuse" is a request to kindly GTFO my journal if you're just looking for trouble there, anyway.

I'm not the same anonymous as earlier on this thread. I signed in and was agreeing with you, had a big rant about my dislike of FW, actually... then I decided to delete it because I knew they were probably watching this thread.

I've been wanked before. I thought about what I'd said and decided that I really don't want them to put me through the wringer again, that I'm just not in a strong enough state of mind right now to put up with it. I mean, I could just ignore them, but it's kinda hard when you see Wankas on other coms who remember your name and you are harrassed by trolls bred by the system.

So, I'm agreeing with you, but I'd rather be a coward about it, because I'm sick of their crap.

Adding: I didn't know the protocol on this com for deleting comments, so I thought it fair to let you know why the comment was deleted from your thread. I don't like FW, either, but I'm kinda scared of them. I hope you understand.

Yes, if I was smarter I would probably keep my mouth shut too, but it's bad enough that I have to lock my journal down, I can only let bullies shut me up for so long.

I was first wanked years ago, over a stupid fandom dispute in which I was being a twatwaffle, but it would it would have blown over if it hadn't been wanked. Honestly, I think I was on there mostly because I was friends with someone some of the members hated. As much as they say they get distracted by the shiny, I think a lot of them remember certain people. I lurk there sometimes and there are repeated names I see there come up with disturbing frequency (and they aren't all Anne Rice).

I think they may have *finally* forgotten about me and I'd like to keep it that way if possible. Decided to roar, then thought "Do I really want to put up with it again?" Friendly red X.

Ditto on everything you said. Same thing happened to me, and I think it happens to more people than "fans" would like to admit. Sure, we all do stupid things, but if they personally don't like you (or one of your friends), they will blow things up to massive proportions. In my case, they posted personal identifying information within the wank. Really got out of hand. Too many of the posters on there have serious personality issues.

Actually, given what I've seen from lurking there, I'm afraid that one day they might try to mess with my career - seeing how they go after ex "wankers" whov've been published and whatnot, if they know their names. I admit to not knowing the whole story with those, but still... taking stupid fandom kerfluffles into the stuff of actual livelihoods is scary.

I'm probably just being paranoid, though. In the end, they're just a bitchy web community and I have no idea how much people will listen to them on anything in real-life land.

I'm actually surprised I'm getting sympathy... I was thinking of e-mailing you, and I looked at your friendslist, and you're friends with at least one person whom I think probably would be happy if I keeled over dead today.

I'm also fairly certain that I deserved to be wanked - I mean, I contend that I think it was overkill and that things would have been resolved a lot better and with a lot less drama had FW not been involved, but I can't say I didn't deserve to be smacked.

I get along with a lot of different people because I don't put up with FW-like behaviour in my journal, so if you did comment there I think the other person would know better than to be horrid in my front yard.
