Denying debt as a concept doesn't seem to you like it would completely wreck the entire credit industry on which hella poor people rely to get through the week/month/season if they happen to be strapped for cash? Because if debt is not permitted to exist anymore, then charging things on your card and paying back the debt slowly rather than having to front all the money or just do without is also not going to be permitted to exist anymore. Also, someone who just takes shit, goods or services, and refuses to pay for it because you aren't legally able to owe anyone anything is going to play havoc with businesses who send the bill after, not before, goods and services are handed over. I agree that the student loan industry is horrible and we need to drastically overhaul the way we handle college and college finances in this country, but that doesn't mean we should just completely destroy everything that involves some kind of debt/repayment.
