Are you single or in a relationship?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-26 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
How do you feel about your relationship status?

I'm single and I've been single all my life except for a three-month relationship when I was 16. I don't hate being single in and of itself, but I also would like to be in a relationship on some level, and I would like to believe it's possible for me to be loved and desired and tolerated.

I'm single. I am used to it and have no desire to seek out a relationship. Sometimes it does get tiresome to only have me looking out for me though, and being in groups where I am the only person on my own.

Thankfully I am an introvert though so when I'm by myself I am okay.

I'm single. I think ideally it would be nice to find someone but realistically that sounds like a lot of work.

Single, looking, have dated plenty but it's tough finding guys in my very particular niche who aren't scared off by my hobbies, job, interests, etc.

I'm getting a little tired of guys, tbh :(

What is your niche and what hobbies/job scare them off?

Orthodox Jewish, which tends towards traditionalism.
But I'm doing a Ph.D, I have lots of opinions and I will talk about them and academia is a pretty demanding job that will take me to conferences and such and I need a guy who can accommodate that, I'm in fandom, I write fiction and cosplay, I listen to Japanese music and watch Japanese tv shows... these things are not really part of the "normal" for my segment of society.
I've seen guys get scared off by all these things. Many of them want "a simple woman". Yeah, not me.

Single with no desire to date. Dating and such just seems like too much of a hassle.

We have been living together for nine months after 2,5 years of a long-distance relationship.

And I have to say it was a big fucking challenge to merge the lives of two people who remained independent while usually meeting met up for late-night Skype sessions. I mean to find our space together while still retaining our, well, space as individuals. But that's the thing about being with somebody, you really want to grow together instead of being the same people who met at one point in their lives and fell in love. Truth is though we have our ups and downs, I think I'm in this one for the long run.

I'm single.

I'm indifferent about my relationship status.

Less likely to get married than a dead pope. Not real happy about it.

I've been with my boyfriend for 6-7 years now and I'm 100% happy with it.

Divorced after 30 years of marriage and perfectly happy, with zero intention to date or even fool around. I like being alone.

I'm in a poly relationship, and I've dated maybe 2 people my whole life. Despite that, EXTREMELY happy. If you asked me a year or more ago, I never would have seen this coming. I'm not overly sexual, nor was I looking. But this is probably the best thing to happen to me in years. Even with a few little bumps in things, we're all getting along great.

Single. Very much want a partner, but clueless as to how to go about it. It seems like all the men my age are already looking middle-aged and most of them are taken, anyway. Finding someone seems like a shot-ton of work, too, and no one I know had to put in much of an effort, so I have no model for how to do this - they all think they are experts who just need to tell me to "Just get out there more" and "Have you tried internet dating?" but have no idea how to actually do any of that and change the subject when I ask for specifics. What I want more than a boyfriend is for my friends and family to shut up, actually.
