+1

My parents were big fans right from his early career. I remember reading the Amphigories as a little kid, and not understanding a lot of the more risque stories. My sister had a t-shirt of The Doubtful Guest, and I tried drawing some of the creatures from the Utter Zoo, and I memorized a lot of the alphabets. I can still do all of the Gashleycrumb Tinies and the Chinese Obelisks.

My other sister would read some of them out loud and do voices, like the Bug Book and okay I'm blanking on the title of the one with the killer buttons and nihilistic pins and needles. The Inanimate Tragedy?

Looks like a bunch of evil tassels of doom...
