Then it does seem like they're changing a great deal. I suppose they may not be aiming for fans of the original as a target audience after all? I don't know how risky that is, but if in the end they just do their own thing and slap the DN label on it -- yeah, I can understand being pissed off.

I feel like the manga/anime might possibly be old enough so a younger generation might not know it and watch the US version on its own. That and the people who make it a point to not like anime might be a potential audience as well.
