Re: age is just a number
(Anonymous) 2017-07-28 12:31 am (UTC)(link)I heard something once that kinda helped me. Old people say that youth is wasted on the young...but they need the strength of youth to survive and learn and grow. It's the only way. Can you imagine having to deal with all the stuff of being young and so much to figure out with an older person's body and NOT having the wisdom/life experience they've gained?
You got here honest. You've learned a lot. You'll learn more.
Don't blame yourself for not knowing everything / doing everything by a certain arbitrary (and young) age. That's fiction. That's not real life.
The people who do manage to do "everything" by a young age (genius level or whatever) sometimes end up with serious issue because they weren't able to *actually* mature (grow emotionally, etc) at the rate they needed to. It's a real thing...
Re: age is just a number
I guess in my case I'm a little worried because the things I haven't managed to do may be impacting my career, and that scares me. It's less the age itself and more where I'm at vs. where I need to be...
But I will take it to heart, and try not to stress over it.
