An Alien fan and a Predator fan getting into a huge argument on an art post over which is better. Not like from a film perspective, like "You Pred fans suck" kind of thing.

I know it doesn't sound so stupid when you're in the fandom but they sounded so much like little kids I had trouble believing that they were serious.

I was in a very dumb one when I was 13 as to whether Jaws was a monster movie or a disaster movie.

Whether or not Cloud can dual-wield. It was a long thread.

that sounds like an important argument though

and the answer is no since he doesn't do it in the game

I mean he is probably physically capable of it but it's not in his weapons portfolio

Well, in this case they were taking the Compilation into consideration (I know, I know, a problem unto itself!). And if you go by that, he does dual-wield in Advent Children. But like, people were scrutinizing clips from AC and arguing over whether he was just using swords in either hand as a temporary thing to hold them, or whether or not he did any combat with a sword in his left hand.

(For me, personally, when writing fic I view the game as canon, and the Compilation as optional canon. As in, if I LIKE it, I'll include it. So Cloud gets to keep the Fusion Sword because that's a fucking badass sword okay even if it's stupid as hell >_> and if he gets the sword, then I let him dual-wield)

I like to think he did try it out after the OG game and can be good at it but not very much so he doesn't do it often. It is cool though, his sword is one of the things I really like about AC.

I think that the reason I like the sword from AC is that it's one of the few times we see Cloud really growing past Zack's influence. Because while it may be based on the Buster, it's got its own quirks - meaning Cloud is finally making his techniques his own, and he's modifying his weapon to better match how *he* wants to fight, which with the Fusion Sword, is clearly distinct from Zack.
From that perspective, I think it's positive character development, and I like it.

Recently it was some guy saying there shouldn't be a female Dr who because, and I quote, "time travel belongs to men and men alone". I mean, are we being trolled? Idk, man, I've known some fucking stupid scrotes in my day. But the all-time stupidest fandom argument was "Saul Goodman changed his name because he got disbarred".

I think some guy on twitter trolled him right back.
