One of my friends who talked about it with me seemed to think it was "always too much work" and like since she does it for her job she doesn't want to bother during her off time, even if it's not all that time consuming. I can understand that.

I don't hire an accountant myself though because I have the situation you talked about where my financial situation is not so complicated but maybe for some people it's also piece of mind? Idk.
