Post 'em if you got 'em

Today has been super extra depressing. Buried one of my 8 week old chicks, and I'm dreading going home (from picking up my mom's ashes and death certificate) in case any more don't make it since they all have coccidiosis.The one whose legs don't work is still alive, but the vet doesn't think she'll make it. I kind of doubt it, too.

Okay, chick without working legs is still alive and did her best to eat. Fingers crossed she and the rest make it through the night. If she recovers from the coccidiosis and gains some weight I'm gonna take her to an avian specialist and see if surgery might help. I'd never normally go through this much trouble for a pet, but anything this stubborn deserves her best shot, especially after making it to eight weeks.

I am way too deep into the Xeno hole. I don't find normal humans (character or irl) attractive. The only human characters that come close to attractive for me have something "wrong" with them (robotic limbs, powers, super intelligence, etc.).

Yeah I'm not quite in the same boat, but I'm damn close. Powers and super-intelligence don't usually do anything for me on their own, but some deformities do, which is worse. I'd hate to start crushing on RL deformed people or amputees because that's the kind of fetishization that hurts RL people. At least there's no such thing as RL dragon/lizard people, because unless they had a thing for humans I'd be SOL. Might even if they did, I'm on the ugh side of average.

No one in my family cares about me except my mother and even then she never calls if I don't call her and she has great ways of digging at my self esteem. And then they wonder why I never visit and have no interest in moving back there.

Dealing with people in my life who don't take how they say something into consideration when they get criticized for it and then pull the "I got dogpiled for saying___" or "if it were '*completely different situation*' everyone would agree with me". trying too mod a community and tell a few certain people why they're getting criticized sometimes is getting me cursed out and called shit and I'm getting sick of it.

Like they're not even talking about ACTUAL dogpiles of threats and the like. Just.. having people tell them "hey that's not cool" and suddenly they play the victim. It's only a few problem people but still.

It tends to make me wary of people who will sometimes claim "JUST saying this gets me dogpiled". Which I feel bad for because people really do get dogpiled and its shitty and I feel bad for doubting. URG.

Maybe I should step down.. but... I feel bad for letting the admin down.

My sister works at the supermarket and told me that our brother comes by to buy candy. He's really overweight and has said he's trying to lose weight. We're both adults and I don't feel like I can really confront him about what he eats, but I'm worried. Whether it's sugar addiction or comfort eating, it's telling that he's doing it in secret so that the rest of the family doesn't know. Worse yet, our dad is the exact same way about junk food.

Ugh, I do this. I want to lose weight, but I like sweets, damn it!

I'm trying to lose weight right now. I lost a lot a few years ago then gained it all back and now I'm trying again. But I love sweets too so it's difficult.

If he's buying the candy at the store where he knows his own sister works, that's hardly "in secret."

We went out with friends tonight. They took us to this expensive restaurant (the cheapest entree was $19). And yet the food really wasn't good. I had trout, and it was okay but pretty boring. No one else liked their food. So disappointing to go to an expensive place and not get great food.

Also, they had a whole bunch of feral or semi-feral cats around. It bugged me that they'd never called anyone about them. Especially because one of them looked pretty young and wasn't so scared of people as the others were. It was almost friendly, and I think it could be taken to a shelter and adopted and have a better life if the place would just bother to do something. I wanted to take it home so we could take it to the shelter tomorrow, but my mother didn't want us to because it probably hasn't had its rabies shot.
