Ooooo, I thought you were looking for tips on using what you have! My bad :)

Yup, I know it's older and I'm sure there's probably much better stuff out there. I just don't want to pay $50 for a tube if a $10 one works just as well! I know some makeup you get what you pay for, and some the cheaper options work just fine. Like cheap eyepencils are terrible, but maybelline mascara's great.

Gotcha! Totally. I just recently had this conversation with my sister, and my brain was like, "Don't let her put old stuff on her lovely face!" And then I missed like, the whole point of your question. (Sorry again!)

Haha, true that. Though personally, I don't like their Great Lash mascara anymore. I still love their Colossal Cat Eyes stuff though.

Honestly, I'm someone who likes the luxury of pricey makeup, but everything I've seen tells me that when it comes to foundation, how you apply it is way more important than which brand you use. Basically, rule number one is to use a beauty sponge or a brush - not your fingers.

Rule number two is that setting liquid foundation will make it last way better, especially if your skin is oily and/or you have fine lines and wrinkles.

Also, a lot of people swear by a primer. They make them for all skin types and at a range of price points. I don't use one myself, but that's only because I use a serum and a moisturizing sunscreen, so I feel like adding a primer over all of that would be one layer too many. Maybe I'm missing out, though, who knows.
