Quark has to pull together a team of Ferengi to rescue his mother from the Dominion. If this sounds ridiculous to you...you're right. But it's so much fun that hopefully you won't really care.

Yep! Apparently the producer took time out of his day to come and watch them film this episode just because he was such a fan of Iggy Pop, so this was a dream come true for him. And like you said, it adds another fun, bizarre note to proceedings.

.. and I've always got such a kick out of the way he played it, as well. So dry.

(I also liked that he was a craggy Vorta. All the others are so very pretty.)
