I'd talk to someone at a college also. Not necessarily take their word for it at first, they may not be bad people, but they want you to spend some money. Keep in mind the fields that quiz pointed out, but get a feel for it. Maybe they have other tests you can try.

Also, I know about industry certifications (at least for network infrastructure, which is anything but routine tbh), if you narrow down a field, look for those.
