I'd totally watch a re-make of weird science. I loved Lisa. Goddam, I need to re-watch that. I think that could be re-made without any iffy elements. It's a solid story. Horny teens want the prefect girl, make a sex genie, she runs circles around them because they have no idea about women or what they really want, everyone laughs.

Some movies you can get past the 80'sness of them. Overboard is pretty flawed from the concept up. "So she's lost her memory and this hillbilly tricks her into thinking they're married..." you just can't get past that

I don't agree that two teen boys wanting to build a sex slave is the basis of a solid story. It doesn't need a re-make (plus it technically already had one in a tv show though that was a while ago.)

I never saw her as a sex slave. Partly because she never had sex with them. Like that would have been a much darker film.

Uh, didn't she have sex with one of them? Granted it's been a long time since I've seen the film but I feel like I distinctly remember that.

But I wasn't saying she was a sex slave so much as that's what two teen boys intended her to be.

No, she might have tried to - my memory is equally foggy - but he rejected her.

Thats a valid interpretation but I never saw it that way. Sure with the 80's movie garbage, that could well have been the intent, but the fact that they never gave her any instruction relating to fucking in the creation of her, or commands to have sex after creating- And infact outright refused to have sex with her when given the opportunity, I always read it as wanting the perfect woman, with the hope of sex, rather than making her for having sex in and of itself. That's not to say there wasn't other stuff in the film that was pretty ugh, and her creation was far from some pure thing, I just never read it as a sex slave thing.

... I don't think so. She kissed one of them, I think? But that's as far as it went and even if the boys had intended her to be a sex slave*, once she got there she DEFINITELY had the upper hand in all ways.



* I honestly don't think they thought that far ahead or quite so succinctly. IIRC, they were fooling around with a computer and inputting the qualities of their ideal woman, which included the intelligence of Albert Einstein - not exactly an obvious quality in a sex slave. They had no way of knowing that it would actually WORK.
