well, Nirvana in Fire mentioned above is amazing and stays with you after, however the first 2 eps are confusing because they introduce many characters and Chinese names are hard, tbh.

I also liked Healer 2014, quirky little series with cute relationships and parkour action scences.

I think Splash Splash Love is a nice introduction to k-dramas if you like historical fantasy elements. It's short at 2 eps.

I also loved Goblin 2016 (slashy), Master's Sun (cute), Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (also cute), Go Princess Go (this one was banned in China), Noble My Love (troppy), Hotaru no hikari (relatable) and Defendant 2017 (a thriller).
